Inscription on a Clock with the Three Horae

The horae stride slowly ahead of other blissful gods.
- Theocritus

It is we of all the gods who stride the slowest,
With crowns of leaves gracefully adorned, in silence.
And he who honors us and to whom we show our favor,
For his love of beauty and s
acred moderation,
Before his eyes we hover
, dancing on light feet
And for him make manifold the lengthy day.
